Review: Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

23-1
23-2
Here’s a quick review of a ‘face rebalancing oil’ from Clarins. It’s lightweight and absorbs quickly. The main benefit of this oil is that it does hydrate the skin nicely, so I found it especially useful during the dry months. However, if you’re not one for strong scents then this product may not work for you. The scent of sandalwood is very evident and does linger for a while. With regards to price 40 ml (1.4 Fl. Oz.) is $50.00. Not cheap but there are more expensive face oils out there.

Overall, I would not repurchase because it didn’t do anything special.

Review: Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy

21-1
21-2
21-3
The Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy is described to be a multitasking hair product. It’s supposed to protect hair from heat and breakage whilst ‘boosting’ hair shine. It has a unique tricolour oil formula which when blended turns into an opaque light-coral coloured oil. For reference, my is long and I often abuse it with hair dye and heat stylers, so my opinion is based on a more rigorous standard.

Overall, I have to say that this product proved to be a disappointment. To be honest, at the price point of 1.5 oz for $35.00 I had very high expectations that this product did not live up to at all. In short, it didn’t make my hair look more hydrated or conditioned and I didn’t like the texture of it at all. It is supposed to soften hair but if anything it made my hair look rough. I have used far cheaper products that delivered 100% better results. I don’t know whether this product will work better on hair that is not as abused as my own, but for the money there are much better and more proven products to choose from.

Overall, I would not repurchase this product

Review: Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain

19-1
19-2
19-3
The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain ($34.00 USD for 0.20 oz) is meant to be a hybrid version of a lip gloss and stain. The idea behind this lip product is described as being, “A revolutionary new lip product that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long wear of a stain.” In my opinion, I find this description to be incurable accurate. When worn the product delivers a light sheen whilst having the colour longevity of a stain. This product does wear well on me, but from other reviews it appears that not everyone has experienced this.

In terms of texture, when first applied there is a slight ‘tack’ feeling but I find that this feeling fades after the product has sinked in and dried on the lips. The resulting finish is opaque and slightly glossy. If you are looking for a product that is as shiny as a full blown lip gloss then this product may not live up to expectations. It should be noted this product does have a mild fruity scent.

Overall, I probably won’t repurchase this product mainly because it’s very long lasting and I am curious to try other more innovative products on the market. That said, I am pleased with this product and you should definitely check it out if you, like me, are a fan of stain lip products.

the pre-crunch time

A lack of updates usually means that I’m near my ‘crunch time.’

Though it’s not quite that time …the next couple of weeks aren’t going to be pretty.

Good ’till the last drop

I loved this perfume and I will definitely repurchase.
For me, this very unusual since I don’t tend to be loyal to my fragrances.
If you haven’t tried it…I would recommend that you do, especially if you enjoy light floral scents.

Review: Tweezerman Tweezers

16-1
16-2
This is going to be a short review for a very good product. In my opinion, Tweezerman tweezers are just excellent. They are precise, stay sharp for long, and are durable. I have stuck to this brand for ages and my mom (and even grandma) have been using Tweezerman for decades now. Though I have dabbled in other brands; nothing come close to the user friendliness of these tweezers. Prices can range from $22.00 to $25.00 depending on the size and point style.

Overall, this is a great beauty tool brand that I will always use.
